Idrissa Gana Gueye is a Senegalese professional footballer who plays for English club Everton and the Senegal national team as a defensive midfielder.
Club career
Born in Dakar, Gueye spent his early career in Senegal for Diambars and in France for Lille.
He signed for English club Aston Villa on 10 July 2015.
Following the club's relegation from the Premiership, Everton triggered a release clause in his contract, and signed Gueye on a four year deal on 2 August 2016.
International career
Gueye made his international debut for Senegal in 2011, and has appeared in FIFA World Cup qualifying matches for them.
He also represented them at the 2012 Olympics, and at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.
